CINEMATIC DOPE

"The U.S. vs John Lennon" (2006). Written/directed by David Leaf and John Scheinfeld. This film focuses mainly on the post-Beatles John Lennon and his involvement in the antiwar movement of the late sixties/early seventies. Labeled as a threat by the U.S. government under the presidency of Richard Nixon, John Lennon was crucified for his outspoken position against the war similar to John Trudell and Martin Luther King. History repeats itself over and over again as the people grow more and more apathetic, activism is needed more than ever NOW. This film was an eye opener for it made me realize how similar the times are, yet the people seem to be less angry with the erosion of our civil rights and liberties. Rent this film and pay your respects to a man who stood up for his rights...more of us should do the same. -Mr.-

FASHION

Pretty Doorknockers from Girl Props - if I could bring stores from the states over here Girl Props would be one of the first. It's pretty much a bargain bin of fun accessories, and everything is like five bucks. They have tons of takes on the classic doorknocker, but these were one of my favourites. -Ms.-

FASHION

Made Jewellery Play Date Necklace – Sometimes handcuff necklaces or earrings look really tacky so I try to stay away from them. Too many designers make them look all wannabe hardcore, but these are nice, small and subtle, plus I like how the cuffs actually make up the links in the chain as opposed to just hanging there as a charm. -Ms.-

FASHION

Jeepney BBB T - Brews, Blunts, and Bitches holleerrrr. Well that’s my summer in a nutshell just in case y’all were interested. -Ms.-

FASHION

Tripp NYC Suspender Short Shorts – In Toronto, when it gets hot it gets HOOOOT and the less clothing the better. I'm a huge shorts over skirts advocate because you can skimp on material without looking like a skank, and the chances of an accidental peep show are lessened greatly. Lindsay take note. I also like that these come with suspenders (optional), I think they can be super sexy...more people should wear them. -Ms.-

FASHION

Supra NS Skytop White – it boggles my mind that more people haven’t jumped on the supra bandwagon. Their designs are just way too fresh. The Muska Skytops will forever be my favourite design to come from the Supra boys, so I'm glad they keep changing up the detailing on the shoe. I love the perforated leather on these, they’ve done such a good job in remixing the classic all white sneaker. Definite cop for summer. -Ms.-

KNOW YOUR PAST

"Juvenile Delinquintz" off the classic 1991 album Terminator X and The Valley of The Jeep Beets. This song wore my walkman down from all the rewinds I was making. To all you young bucks - KNOW YOUR PAST! This shit right here is why the government fears our culture. BOOYAA MUDDASUCKAZ! Don't fall victim to the Soldier Boy bug, that shit'll rot your brain - YA DIG! -Mr.-
